Psychometric Assessments
What are Psychometric Assessments?
Psychometric assessments are standardized tools that can be used to analyze an individual’s attributes, personality traits, and behavioral tendencies. These tests are designed to support self-understanding of strengths, weaknesses, and potential. They are always selected with the coaching objective in mind and, when utilized, can inform the one-on-one coaching by providing valuable information and insights that the client may not already recognize or appreciate about themselves. Psychometric assessment results can be like a springboard into coaching – saving valuable time and effort upfront. Types of assessments include:
- Cognitive Ability Tests: Assess functions such as problem-solving, reasoning, and memory.
-
Personality Assessments: Evaluate traits to help understand the individual’s style and preferences.
-
Emotional Intelligence Tests: Assess how individuals recognize and manage emotions as these relate to relationships, stress, decision-making, reality testing, etc.
-
Behavioral Assessments: Analyze an individual’s go-to behaviours to predict how they will likely respond in the workplace.
